Lac de St-Ferréol : 13,2 km (15 min.)
Lake where all sorts of activities are possible: canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, pedal boats and safe swimming, thanks to the presence of lifeguards in the summer. A park with wide paths, waterfalls and a fountain.

The Route de Pastel, the Woad Route
In St-Paul Cap de Joux, 18 km (22 min.) from here, the Museum of the Woad can be visited in the Château de Magrin.

Castres : 20 km (22 min.)

Since the 14th century the centre of the textile industry.
The Goya Museum: a collection of Spanish paintings.
The Jean Jaurès Museum: a tribute to a great humanist.

You can also visit the beautiful gardens next to the Goya Museum.

Is part of the regional Haut-Languedoc nature park. You can spend a lovely day out visiting the granite rocks in different shapes, e.g. a bird, Napoleon's hat, etc. By the granite lake you can enjoy a picnic.

Lastours : 55 km (1 h 7 min.)

Four towers, remains of the Lastours castles. You need two hours to visit the towers, so you have to be in good shape.
On the other side of the mountain you have a great view on the towers.

The Saint-Cécile cathedral took two centuries to build: from 1282 to 1480.
Museum Henri de Toulouse Lautrec in the Palais de la Berbie: here one can visit the largest permanent collection of Lautrec's work as well as paintings by Matisse.

Basilique de St-Sernin : Romanesque basilica, built in the 11th and 12th century.

Les Abbatoirs: old slaugtherhouse, which is now a museum of modern art. (Tue – Sun: masterpiece of Picasso's theatre scene 'Minotaurus disguised as harlequin' 
Les Jacobins: church.
Musée des Augustins: French, Italian and Flemish sculptures and paintings from the 16th – 19th century.
Cité de l'Espace: space centre, planetarium, interactive machines, scale model of the Ariane 5.

Carcassonne : 72,2 km (1 h 6 min.)
Beautifully restored fortified medieval city.
In the new city you can enjoy a drink at the Place Carnot.

Limoux : 70,1 km (1 h 22 min.)
A nice little town where you can taste the 'Blanquette de Limoux'. One of the cellars is 'Sieur d'Arques', which can be visited and where you can taste the 'Crémant de Limoux'.
Catharama: offers an audio-visual show, explaining the history of the Cathares and their religion .

Gorges de Galamus : 89,4 km (1 h 41 min.) PHOTO 24 in gallery.
Crossing the Gorges de Galamus, is crossing an impressive road, built overhanging the abyss.
You can leave your car at the parking place and take a walk along the Gorges. You can also pass the Gorges by car. It's a narrow road, so you have to be careful.
There is the Hermitage de St-Antoine de Galamus to visit.

Peyrepertuse : 127,9 km (2 h 28 min.)
This fortress of the Cathares is one of the most spectacular ones in size. You need to walk about 20 minutes to get there, so you have to be in good shape .
